High electric bill?
Sometime in 2021 NOPEC became part of your energy provider. The city of Cleveland Heights decided they wanted NOPEC to serve their city. I am almost certain they discussed this at city council meetings.
After noticing a higher electric bill in March 2022, I called The Illuminating Company(TIC) @1-800-589-3101 and downloaded my utility bills for the past year.
Per TIC, the city entered into a contract with NOPEC, residents were sent notices that a change was coming to their utility bill.
I admit, I recall the notice but paid no mind to the notices. It was not a priority on my list.
Your bill is based on Kilowatts(KW) per hour used, you pay a few pennies for each KW.
Per TIC, in the summer they set there rate at 6.24 cents to compensate for higher energy consumption and lower the rate the rest of the year.
Reviewing my bill for the past two years, I agree.
NOPEC entered your billing cycle July 30-August 28 or the August 31,2021 bill at a low rate of 5.46 cents.
Take a look at the months since August 31,2021 to March 29,2022 how NOPEC has increased. TIC was higher than NOPEC three months over the nine month period. You don't need a calculator to see you are paying more.
8/31 NOPEC 5.46 cents *** TIC 6.24 cents
9/03 NOPEC 5.46 cents *** TIC 6.24 cents
9/29 NOPEC 5.46 cents *** TIC 5.58 cents
10/28 NOPEC 5.46 cents *** TIC 5.24 cents
Introductory rate is over, bump it up! As TIC goes down NOPEC goes UP!
11/29 NOPEC 5.86 cents *** TIC 5.21 cents
Nobody watching the rate, bump it up!
12/29 NOPEC 6.96 cents *** TIC 5.21 cents
BUMP IT UP!
01/27 NOPEC 6.96 cents *** TIC 5.12 cents
TIC going down NOPEC has not moved.
02/25 NOPEC 6.96 cents *** TIC 5.08 cents
No movement from NOPEC, TIC going down.
03/29 NOPEC 7.17 cents *** TIC 5.08 cents
NOBODY WATCHING THE RATE OR CANCELING, BUMP IT UP!

this was my final bill with NOPEC, please check your electric bill and make changes ,those pennies ,add up why pay more .
The few pennies are generating tens of thousands of dollars in communities per month.
Per TIC Agent, my March 31, 2022 bill would have been $40.00 less if my bill was all TIC.
The good thing, per NOPEC there are no fees or penalties to cancel with NOPEC.
As of April 7,2022, I canceled my NOPEC account by calling NOPEC @ 1-855-667-3201. After I confirmed there were no penalties or fees to cancel, I proceeded with my cancellation by answering a few questions.
NOPEC gave me my confirmation number and I called TIC @ 1-800-589-3101 to inform TIC of my confirmation number.
Per TIC, I will receive one more bill with NOPEC.
April 14,2022 NOPEC sent me an email confirmation stating my utility bill will revert back to my utility company at the end of the billing cycle.
I receive no kickbacks or reduced rates for posting this information on the website.

Pre - NOPEC bill is simple to read. TIC summer rate 6.24 cents per Kilowatt hour. Equal Payment plan in effect.
August 31,2021
TIC rate is 6.24 cents Kilowatt per hour it is found in the top left hand of your bill.
NOPEC 5.46 cents on the right lower side. This appears to be a teaser rate as it will increase after four months when TIC is going down.
If TIC is going down shouldn't NOPEC?
March 31,2022 was my wake up call I noticed my bill was much higher than last year and prior months. NOPEC is counting on citizens not reading their bill or calling to cancel.
The city handed over over thousands of clients in one swoop. It will be months or years before citizens realize they are paying higher rates.
