DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD)

HUD is a government agency created to help meet the housing needs and police unfair housing.

It is important to note you have one year from the date of the alledged act to file.

Each year thousands of complaints are filed, some of the complaints are addressed by HUD and most are given a letter to proceed on their own in court.

Having laws and not enforcing them is the problem with HUD. The case load is dropped when HUD inform a poor person to file their claim in court within two years.

Most of the cases that come through HUD are from those who cannot afford legal representation and therefore these cases never make it to court.

Afterwhich, the victim suffers retaliation from the oppressor. Some of the victims are evicted from their homes for filing a complaint.

For this reason, all cases should be heard by HUD, however long it takes, as long as the claim was filed within one year.
